Job Overview: As the VP of Completions, you will lead a critical department responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and high-performance completion operations. You will drive safety, operational excellence, and financial discipline, ensuring alignment with EQT's strategic goals around sustainability and growth. Responsibilities:
- Safety: champion a culture of safety, striving for industry-leading safety records across all completions execution operations.
- Operations: Oversee the full spectrum of completions operations, ensuring a balance of efficiency, forward-thinking engineering, and risk management.
- Benchmarking: Set and monitor benchmarks to ensure the department delivers best-in-class performance, identifying opportunities for operational enhancement and cost reduction
- Culture: Build and maintain a high-functioning, resource-efficient work culture both for remote employees and field-based crew that supports safe, effective project management.
- Planning: Develop and implement long-term planning priorities and initiatives aimed at reducing internally-control barriers and while focusing on maximizing completions efficiency to optimize cost per foot.
- Goals: Develop and implement long-term departmental goals that align with EQT's corporate objectives (mission alignments), ensuring proactive adaptation to industry changes and company growth.
- Coach: Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture that promotes EQT's values and enhances individual and departmental performance.
- AFEs: Develop and manage field estimate & accuracy processes and verification and ensure timely submission and approval of AFEs (Authorization for Expenditure) for all completions projects. Ensure accurate tracking of completions costs against AFEs and budgets to maintain financial control.
- Budget: Lead the creation, management, and oversight of the completions budget, including the development of well type assumptions that reflect safe, cost-efficient and high-performance outcomes. Collaborate with finance, accounting, midstream, production, ops planning and asset performance teams to ensure alignment with overall corporate financial objectives.
- Lookbacks: Analyze and manage variances between actual well costs and budgeted amounts, adjusting strategies as necessary to maintain cost-effective operations.
- Well Types: Collaborate with internal teams to refine well type assumptions, improving accuracy in budgeting and operational planning while accounting for geological and operational variances.
- Regulatory: Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, setting a standard for reporting compliance and safe operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 15+ years of industry experience, with a focus on engineering and operational leadership in completions.
- Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, with strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Expertise in completions design and operations, across multiple unconventional resource plays and ability to manage multiple fleets simultaneously across multiple regions
- Solid understanding of AFE creation and tracking, field estimate processes, and budget management, with the ability to develop accurate well type assumptions.
- Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks to the most important things to manage complex projects with attention to detail.
Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states: Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Louisiana, New Jersey, and New York unless willing to relocate.
