Staff Pharmacist- Clinical Float

Scope of Position

Staff Pharmacy evaluates medication use, approval, production and preparation, dispensing and progress of therapy. Prepares and maintains all records on prescriptions and patient charges. Advises and communicates to other health care professionals about safe and effective medicine use.

Position Summary

Acts as a resource amp; provides answers to drug questions for patients, family, pharmacists, nurses, physicians, medical students, undergraduate amp; graduate pharmacy amp; students amp; others. Approval amp; implementation of new drug orders which may include checking/verifying chemotherapy notes, informed consent amp; processing non-formulary requests. Screening for drug-drug, drug-allergy, drug-food, drug-disease state and drug-laboratory interactions. Participates in hospital amp;/or departmental committees. Functions to implement amp; coordinate all aspects of patients' pharmaceutical needs. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge amp; skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must be able to demonstrate mediation dosing amp; identify pharmaceutical needs relative to the disease process amp; age. This position is also responsible for supervising technicians, undergraduate amp; graduate student teaching, amp; providing educational programs for hospital staff. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy. Registered Pharmacist. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
