This position serves in an assistant capacity to the Program Manager. Serves in an acting capacity in the absence of the Program Manager. Assists in the development and implementation of services, supports, and programing of persons served. Provides support to staff to ensure active engagement and a healthy and safe environment. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulatory guidelines, including Medicaid, Licensing, and CARF as well as other funding sources and company policy/procedure. - Perform the duties of the Program Manager in his/her absence. Ensure the daily operations are fulfilled and running smoothly. Maintain communication with pertinent management and staff regarding issues and concerns relating to the site.
- Assist the Program Manager in providing support to the individuals served and staff as needed. Maintain familiarity and ensure ongoing compliance with organizational polices, and other regulatory bodies (Medicaid, Licensure, CARF, etc.) as it pertains to individual's records, plans and documentation.
- Assist with the completing and reviewing all evaluation/assessment reports, ISPs, progress review reports, daily notes, case notes, incident reports, contacts, reviews, attendance and other supporting documentation (including data collection and aggregation), in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure all programs and documentation comply with any and all regulatory agencies
- Encourage and provide active engagement (in-person or virtually) in all daily group and individual areas including but not limited to community integration, personal care, mobility, behavior intervention, medication, training, communication, coordination of schedules, and supervision of participant's activities.
- Promote a safe, clean, and orderly environment and report unsafe conditions immediately. Demonstrate proper behavior intervention techniques, following of written protocols and procedures. Immediately notify the Program Manager, Nurse, designee of any medical concerns, APS allegations, injuries, and other significant events.
Additional Responsibilities
- Establish/maintain communication with family members, authorized representatives, Guardians, residential providers, Support Coordinators regarding participants progress, schedule, community activities, illness, incidents, etc.
- Model and assist staff in providing active engagement in all daily group and individual areas.
- Ensure, maintain, and monitor accurate and quality participant records and documentation as per the PCP, regulatory and company standards and all applicable regulations. ISPs, quarterly progress reviews, and daily documentation will be reviewed regularly for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of entry. Inform the Program Manager (or designee) of missing or inaccurate information immediately. Attend all staff trainings on documentation as scheduled.
- Encourage and support staff to maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures, state, and federal regulations as applicable.
- Complete and pass the Orientation to Developmental Disabilities (ODD) test and competencies.
- Participate in department meetings, participant meetings as assigned, and staff committee meetings.
- Complete in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance to standard operating procedures all assigned documentation, attendance rosters, etc.
- Perform quality assurance of data, quarterly reports, etc. to ensure accuracy and compliance. Train/support staff as needed to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain up-to-date program participant information.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)
- Required: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree and/or college level course-work in the human service field.
- Required: Three (3) years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Preferred: Supervisory experience.
- Must pass the State of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) fingerprinting and criminal background check.
- Must pass the ODD (Orientation to Developmental Disabilities) assessment and competencies.
- Employees who drive individuals in the community or on behalf of the company must possess a current and valid driver's license. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR). Driving requirements vary by site.
- If eligible to drive, must pass the online driving training within 15 days of hire.

- Physical ability to support participants with personal care (feeding, toileting, transferring, etc.).

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to become familiar with corporate specificprograms and software, such as Microsoft Teams or ZOOM.
