Overview

The accounts receivable analyst position is responsible for assisting in collecting the maximum amount of overdue funds from customers at the corporate and divisional levels, using a variety of 'soft' collection techniques. Primary duties include making daily collection calls to clients on aged receivable balances, building and maintaining relationships with clients, preparing delinquent account notices, responding to customer inquiries regarding past-due balances, and providing support to departmental personnel and the accounts receivable manager. Handles details of a confidential nature and works under general supervision in the performance of assigned tasks.

Essential Job Functions



  • Makes daily collection calls to clients regarding unpaid or aged receivable accounts.
  • Responds to customer inquiries regarding current and past due account balances.
  • Builds and maintains relationship with all company clientele.
  • Prepares delinquent account notices and letters, and reissues invoices as necessary.
  • Maintains paper and electronic accounts receivable files, notes, and records.
  • Generates reports on aged account balances and periodically issues them to the department head and other managers.
  • Provides general administrative support to other departmental personnel as needed.
  • Provides administrative and project-oriented support to the accounts receivable manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Certifications



  • High School Diploma required. Associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in corporate collections.


Required Skills and Abilities



  • Must have strong knowledge of relevant computer software applications, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Work requires continual attention to detail while performing assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and juggle competing tasks and priorities.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to respond to general and specific inquiries from management, customers, and applicable team members.
  • Tact, diplomacy, and strong interpersonal and customer-service skills required.


Physical Demands, Overtime, and Travel Requirements

Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, crouch, hear, and talk (must be able to speak and communicate clearly with employees). Employee may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.

There will be some occasions where overtime (or working after normal business hours) will be required to meet the demands of the position.
