Job Summary |
The Department of Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University is seeking candidates for the position of Research Engineer.
This is a two-year limited term appointment. Continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funds.

Essential Functions |
Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist researchers with developing data collection protocols, operating biomass conversion equipment and maintaining lab equipment in the Bioenergy Research Lab.
- Design, fabricate, assemble, and operate specialized and prototype equipment such as fluidized bed and rotatory kiln reactors.
- Assist with routine maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and installation of various analytical instruments in the lab.
- Assist PI, graduate students and Post-docs with implementation of funded projects.
- Performs a variety of research and development projects requiring the applications of professional engineering and practices.
- Designs equipment, materials, and systems that utilize engineering practices and principles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering. Candidates without degrees may substitute 8 years of experience in engineering and research practices and principles.

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, demonstrated technical excellence, and ability to work both both independently and in a team environment. |
Minimum Technology Skills |
Knowledge of software and ability to interpret output/results of data sets. |

Valid driver's license required. |
