JOB SUMMARY

The Cook reports to the Food Services Manager and is responsible for preparing quality meals for facility in compliance with all contractual, State and local health department guidelines.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Prepare meals following approved menus that meet nutritional standards with all contractual, State and local health department guidelines.
  2. Be responsible for the efficient operation & cleaning of culinary area, all refrigerators, pantry space and dining room.
  3. Ensuring that food is stored and served in accordance with all State and local health department sanitation requirements.
  4. Assist with conducting daily sanitation of kitchen and food storage areas.
  5. Assist with conducting daily food sampling of all meals served during a 24-hour period for possible contamination.
  6. Assist with conducting weekly food inventory and ensuring the Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner menus are consistently followed and adjustments are made as necessary.
  7. Assist with conducting daily house supply/chemical inventory and ensuring MSDS on file are followed for all household chemicals.
  8. Ensure that safety procedures for knives are followed.
  9. Will drive on Agency business as needed.
  10. Think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
  11. Report and write up client rule violations when necessary.
  12. Physical presence at the program is required.



    ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS



    1. High school diploma or GED and at least one (1) year of full-time experience.
    2. Be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid California Food Handlers Card
    3. Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting platforms.
    4. Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.
    5. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
    6. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.
    7. Must maintain good relationships with current, future and past employees, co-workers, vendors, third party administrators, and others with whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to them in a professional manner.
