Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is currently recruiting foran Outpatient Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide care to a varied pediatric caseload from 0 through 17 years old, with primary focus on birth-5-years-old.

This is an exciting opportunity for pediatric speech and language pathologists (SLP) who are interested in joining a multidisciplinary pediatric care team and support our growing programs for Infant Mental Health and Early Intervention.

This position is available as full-time. Join an existing integrated care team that is collaborative and extremely dedicated to the young patients they serve!

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates patients referred to speech & language therapy, as well as Early Intervention.
  • Performs evaluations and diagnoses speech and language disorders in children regarding speech and language deficits according to each patient's needs, physician recommendations, and specific program guidelines/protocols.
  • Communicates with patient and/or parents/caregivers regarding evaluation results, treatment plan, and goals. Provides home program activities to patients and/or parents/caregivers to ensure carryover to the home environment.
  • Engages patients and/or parents/caregivers in the treatment sessions.
  • Provides individual (1:1) treatment to assigned patients as appropriate in accordance with established standards of care and practice. Designs an appropriate and effective treatment plan and works within scope of practice at all times. Monitors progress of treatment goals through periodic observations and assessments. Conducts re-evaluations when indicated.
  • Consults with Physician, allied health professionals, and other team members. Participates in case conferencing meeting and in program planning meetings. Facilitates training and presentations for staff, patients, and parents/caregivers when applicable.
  • Communicates regularly with Referral Specialist, Case Management, Care Coordination, and Scheduling staff. Makes recommendations and follows through with referrals to internal programs, as well as outside agencies when appropriate. Makes recommendations to infant/early childhood or mental health services when dyadic concerns arise.
  • Completes all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with the department standards; in addition, documentation complies with the patient's insurance requirements.
  • Provides treatment at different FHCSD clinic sites for increasing patients' ability to access care.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
  • C.C.C. (ASHA) in Speech Pathology preferred, CPR Certification.
  • Current California State licensure as Speech Language Pathologist required; license must be maintained for duration of employment.
  • At least 2 years experience as a Speech & Language Pathologist preferred.
  • Pediatric specific experience required and experience in early intervention (0-3) preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Must meetorganized drivingrequirements.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.

$85,000.00 - $108,887.17

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
