THE POSITION

Elevate your professional journey today by joining The Department of Transportation (PennDOT)! In this role, you will engage in a wide range of tasks associated with the District 12 Annual Pavement Marking Program. Your responsibilities will encompass the development and review of plans, scheduling activities, ordering materials, repairing equipment, conducting quality assurance evaluations, and providing training. You will also coordinate efforts with contractors, maintenance districts, and local officials, while performing additional related duties within the District Maintenance Unit.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will take on the responsibilities of the Program Manager for the District Paint Program, overseeing a range of technical tasks that facilitate the operations of the District Maintenance Unit Paint Crew. You will offer expert guidance, technical assistance, and leadership to field inspectors regarding issues related to pavement marking and delineation, collaborating closely with the District Traffic Unit to ensure effective resolution of these concerns.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Three years as a Highway Foreman 2; or
  • Five years of technical experience in highway maintenance or highway construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:
  • This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Washington, Westmoreland, Green or Fayette counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
