Description

The purpose of this position is to verify insurance coverage of all patients, register patients and obtain pre-authorizations as required for surgery prior to the date of scheduled procedures. This position will also require review of all financial obligations with patients and/or family member.



  • Verifies insurance coverage as to deductibles, coinsurance and co-pay required for all patients on surgery schedule. Reviews and explains the financial responsibility to the patient.
  • Verifies via internet or telephone methods as appropriate to insurance plans.
  • Contacts physician office and/or patient for clarification if needed.
  • Provides procedure estimates to patients and registers patients in the system.
  • Assists with collections in admitting when patients present for procedure.


Qualification:



  • High School Diploma
  • 3-4 years experience working in a medical facility or physician business office
  • Prior experience verifying medical insurance benefits
  • Fluent in English
