Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator

The individual filling the Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator (VCEC) position should be dynamic, organized, efficient, flexible, energetic and personable. The four main areas of responsibility for this position are development of funding sources (including nonfinancial donations to the ReStore), develop and maintain positive relations with other organizations in the community (including churches, educational agencies, civic groups, and businesses. The VCEC will recruit volunteers for construction and the ReStore; social media communications with donors and volunteers to promote our mission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteer Coordination
Responsible for the recruitment, scheduling and coordination of groups and individual volunteers for the ReStore and build sites for Habitat for Humanity homes in Glynn County.
Ensure waiver completion and input volunteer information into software database.
Welcome the volunteers, provide water and snacks, and coordinate group lunches (occasionally). Saturday work is required during construction phases.
Track volunteer hours, oversee sign-in, report volunteer hours to Administrative Manager.

Communications Engagement
Create, edit, and publish communiques including newsletters and news releases.
Create and edit postings on the website and social media accounts.
Place follow-up calls and send thank you letters to potential/actual donors and volunteers to maintain strong donor/volunteer relationships.
Attend local events to develop and maintain an ongoing relationship with corporate donors, contractors, and community service organizations.
Advance the Habitat mission to encourage sponsorships from corporate and civic groups.
Make presentations to potential sponsors and civic groups to garner financial support.
Other tasks assigned by the Executive Director

JOB REQUIREMENTS
2 to 3 years customer service, and/or fundraising experience.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college preferred, some college accepted.
The ideal candidate must display a professional appearance and demeanor, be comfortable with initiating relationships with potential donors and demonstrate strong customer service skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office / Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, etc.)
Detail oriented with strong interpersonal communication skills.
