Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work ON-SITE with our client in Orlando, FL. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • The client we apply our passion for purposeful innovation to keep people safe and solve the world's most complex challenges.
  • We seek an experienced engineer to develop inertial tracking algorithms for one of our fire control product lines.
  • The inertial tracking algorithm development areas include extended and unscented Kalman filtering, non-linear state estimation, Gaussian mixture models, information filtering, particle filtering, multi-hypothesis tracking, Bayesian inference, multi-sensor fusion, passive sensing and stereo tracks, angle-only tracking, feature-aided tracking, image tracking, integrated multi-model tracking, low-SNR target tracking, inertial attitude and line-of-sight estimation, contextual data fusion, scene-based event detection, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, object classification, kinematic and radiometric feature estimation, hypothesis testing, and Monte Carlo methods.
  • In addition to algorithm development, this engineer is responsible for developing complex models and simulations, evaluating system performance in complex scenarios and environments, and verifying system and subsystem-level requirements.
  • They should be comfortable developing and presenting technical material to internal leadership and external customers.
  • They are a highly motivated self-starter, comfortable multi-tasking across several programmatic and technical responsibilities.
  • The candidate should be capable of working in a collegial team environment among subject matter experts from various academic backgrounds.
  • They should also work towards becoming a technical subject matter expert in algorithm development.

Pay: $65.87 / hr.

Hours: 4/10 hrs/Week (1st shift)

Length: Temp (12 Months)

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or Physics or Computer Science or Applied Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in developing and analyzing algorithms related to inertial tracking and navigation.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in C++, Matlab, Python.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Experience with linear algebra software packages.
  • Good programming skills that translate to C++ development in a Linux environment.
  • Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements.
  • Experience deploying complex algorithms in embedded systems.
  • Experience developing algorithms using artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) techniques.
  • Knowledge of electro-optical/infrared detection (EOIR) technology, optics, and principles of radiometry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and analyzing navigation and inertial tracking algorithms.
  • Professional experience and demonstrated proficiency in math related to Kalman filtering, optimal state estimation, linear algebra, probability and statistics, and multivariate calculus.
  • Familiarity with clutter rejection techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience with modeling and simulation of EOIR systems.
