Do you have a passion for inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA)? As the IDEA Intern at the Draper, you will join an exceptionally passionate, collaborative, and committed team working together towards our vision of creating a culture of inclusion. Reporting directly to the IDEA Partner with access to the Chief Diversity Officer, you will have exposure to our IDEA strategy and will learn how to develop and implement IDEA programs to obtain our IDEA goals. As our IDEA Intern, you will work closely with our Employee Resource group leaders and many leaders across Draper.

Key roles and responsibilities:

Assist with the planning and execution of inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility initiatives, programs, meetings, and focus groups.

Complete an assigned IDEA project to own from ideation to deployment that supports the overall IDEA strategy.

Play a meaningful role in crafting our IDEA, CSR, and ERG events throughout the summer

Support with scheduling meetings and lead the development & communication of meeting notes, management of IDEA calendar, the creation of materials (slides, flyers, online resources, etc.).

Provide general administrative and facilitation support to the IDEA Partner and Chief Diversity Officer

Actively identify and implement process improvements.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities
* Co-op will rotate working between multiple groups within Department to ensure a base knowledge set is experienced for comprehensive professional development.
* Provide assistance to a team, including, but not limited to, clerical duties, processing paperwork, customer service or performing data entry.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Program Requirements
* Must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor's / master's degree program.
* Must be a U.S. citizen

Skills/Abilities
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
* Ability to adapt to ever-changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities.
* Strong computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

There is flexibility regarding hours and program duration based on applicant's school schedule and availability.
This position can be partially hybrid remote, however being in the office, when appropriate, is an important part of this experience.

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Diversity and Inclusion or a related field of study

  • Strong organizational skills and strong detail-orientation

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

  • Vision, passion, and commitment to addressing inclusion

  • Ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files
