Position Summary:
Packages materials and products manually by performing the work/packaging instructions specified for each product or part. Visually verifies that parts and or finished products are in compliance with SIG SAUER's quality standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Regular on-site attendance/punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
  • Efficiently/effectively gather packing materials that are correct to the bill of materials, verify serial numbers, complete necessary paperwork, and operate barcode scanners.
  • Wraps protective material around product as required.
  • Pack and process finished materials and move them to appropriate staging areas within the warehouse.
  • Update the company operating system to perform movement of material, and any other functions required to perform job duties.
  • Visually inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of packaging process.
  • Records information such as Serial Number, weight, time, and date packaged.
  • Communicates any issues with the Packing Lead, and/or Supervisor in order to resolve the issue in a timely manner.
  • Seek and act upon ways to improve daily work processes to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities.
  • May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
  • May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
  • Participate in all required activities, and other duties as assigned.


Education/Experience & Skills:



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Typically requires no previous experience.
  • Must be able to read and understand work instructions in English.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is preferred.
  • Ability to accurately perform basic data entry information when processing packed parts and product.
  • Proficient in basic math.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment sharing information, respecting, and assisting other team members.


Working Conditions:



  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks
  • Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) with the exception of lunch and break periods.
  • Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.
  • Standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts, containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
  • Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools in the packing of assembled product.
    Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and ability to focus on fine print.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
