Family Description

Applied R&D (AR) consists of target-oriented research either with the goal of solving a particular problem / answering a specific question or for multi-discipline design, development, and implementation of hardware, software, and systems including maintenance support. Supplies techno-economic consulting to clients. AR work is characterised by its detailed and complex nature in order to systematically combine existing knowledge and practices to further developing and incrementally improving products, operational processes, and customer-specific feature development.

Subfamily Description

Software (SWA) comprises the definition, specification, and allocation of requirements from different sources utilising knowledge of systems engineering processes (specification & architecture). Contains processing of use case and feature requirements into conceptual models, operational scenarios, technical requirements, and functional description. Covers specification, design, implementation, and unit testing of Software (e.g. device drivers, microcode, hardware-related software & firmware) according to the requirements and architecture defined in the systems engineering process. Covers establishment and maintenance of Software Configuration Management (SCM) practices into software development projects, continuously building and integrating infrastructure tools and systems.

As a Principal Engineer you will be designing and implementing complex telco-grade software applications.



  • Application Development - Designing, coding, and implementing software applications.
  • Ensuring scalability, security, and performance of applications.
  • Working with cross-functional teams, including Architects, product managers, and QA Testers.
  • Leading software architecture and design discussions, contributing ideas and solutions
  • Creating technical documentation for code, processes, and applications
  • Troubleshooting and resolving performance bottlenecks in applications.
  • Mentoring and supporting developers to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Reviewing & Optimizing applications code quality and performance
  • Keeping up to date with emerging technologies, programming languages, and industry trends.


Qualification

Strong 4G/5G Telcom experience, strong Java development skills and previous experience working on cloud technology/micro services architecture is must. The ideal candidate should be well versed in development of large product.




  • 14+ years of experience as software architect role in Telecom, BSS and Cloud domain
  • Strong development skills; experience in Python, bash, perl and Java.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, micro services architecture
  • Strong Linux experience
  • Solid ground knowledge of IP networking
  • Familiarity with Git / GitHub
  • Ability to learn quickly and to work in a fast paced, innovative environment
  • Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Enjoy working in an international context



Technical Skills Required:



  • Qualification - bachelor's degree with 14+ years of experience
  • Essential - Should have sound knowledge of java and different framework
  • Diameter/5G protocol detailed knowledge.
  • Working knowledge with TCP/IP, TLS (preferably v1.2 and above).
  • Java, Aerospike DB, Java 17 run time environment
  • J2EE Application Server environment
  • Good understanding of Cloud-native solutions. Understanding of Red hat OpenShift, AWS is a plus
  • Working knowledge of GitHub/Gerrit (GIT), JIRA.

Knowledge & Experience

Management Experience / Achieved well-advanced skills of a specific professional discipline combining deep knowledge of theory and organisational practice or expertise. Recognised expert in their field (depth & breadth). Typically requires 5-8 years extensive relevant experience and/or a graduate / postgraduate equivalent degree.
