What You'll Do:
Our BCBA will coordinate, develop, and review behavior support plans for individuals with developmental disabilities at our day support programs. You will also train and support staff to implement behavior plans and ensure compliance with Virginia DBHDS Human Rights, Office of Licensing, other behavioral regulatory requirements.

What You Need:

  • Required: Master's degree in Psychology or related Human Services field, plus 5 years working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavior management, and/or therapeutic consultation.
  • Required: Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Certified in Positive Behavior Support techniques
  • Required: Licensed Behavior Analyst.
  • Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation to perform work-related travel required. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR).

Job Summary

Coordinates, develops, reviews behavior support plans for individuals with developmental disabilities. Trains, supports staff to implement behavior plans.Attends Community Services Boards' Behavior Management Committee/Behavioral Supports Committee meetings, and/or Regional Human Rights Committee meetings for review of plans. Maintains compliance with Virginia DBHDS Human Rights, Office of Licensing, other behavioral regulatory requirements.

Primary Duties

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

  • Behavioral Management Planning - Work cooperatively with the Person-Centered Partners to develop, implement, and review behavior plans as assigned. Attend planning meetings as assigned, with staff, contractors, and other team members in the development of the participants' behavior plan.
  • Development of Behavioral Intervention Plans - Provides crisis intervention and/or assistance as needed. Complete behavioral observations of the participants as request, analyze the data and through the team process develop a behavior plan for the participant.
  • Behavior Intervention Training - Provide behavior intervention training to staff to assure proper techniques and skills are being utilized. Follow up with staff to assure the behavior plan is being implemented as written. Provides consultation to staff and other team members as needed.
  • Behavior Intervention Plan Documentation - Analyze behavior data collected in order to prepare quarterly reports, reports for Person-Centered plans, and for other required reports.
  • Assure Compliance with Regulatory Agencies - Complete all documentation as required by Habilitation Services, Licensure, Human Rights, CARF, Medicaid, etc. Attend the Local Human Rights Committee meetings and the Community Services Boards' Behavior Intervention Committee as it pertains to the participants served.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Travel frequently to all ServiceSource sites as assigned.
  • Support corporate objectives in the Strategic Plan.
  • Coordination with behavioral consultants regarding deadlines and dates.
  • Utilize Medicaid billing option as appropriate.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

  • Required: Master's degree in Psychology or related Human Services field.
  • Required: Minimum 5 years working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavior management, and/or therapeutic consultation.
  • Required: Board Certified Behavior Analyst, or Certified in Positive Behavior Support techniques.
  • Required: Licensed Behavior Analyst.
  • Required: Maintain qualifications to bill Medicaid.
  • Must pass the State of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) fingerprinting and criminal background check.
  • Must pass the ODD (Orientation to Developmental Disabilities) assessment and competencies.
  • Employees who drive individuals in the community or on behalf of the company must possess a current and valid driver's license. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR). Driving requirements vary by site.
  • If eligible to drive, must pass the online driving training within 15 days of hire

  • Ability to travel locally between assigned ServiceSource sites.
  • Must be able to work well with people internally and externally at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to become familiar with corporate specificprograms and software.

  • Detail-oriented and able to carry out work with the highest levels of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team.
  • Knowledge of behavior intervention principles.

  • Ability to read and interpret a variety of instructions such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and produce manuals furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
