Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist II for
NJMS- Infectious Diseases. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator(s), Data and Operations Management Director and Associate Director, and other leadership, the Research Teaching Specialist II will perform various research operations for specific assigned scientific protocols. This activity includes implementing and monitoring quality control SOPs, conducting periodic monitoring visits, working with investigators at the sites to develop and implement protocols. As directed, the
RTS II will train research assistants and assist in the training of local site clinicians and staff on study protocols.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assists in the establishment of standard operating procedures and manuals of operations for clinical studies. Performs various research operations independently or as assigned, followed by appropriate reports, recommendations and conclusions.
- Assists with the instructing and training of student research assistants and temporary research assistants in study document preparation and study-start-up procedures to develop the skills necessary to perform the required functions.
- Oversees and administers protocols and translates protocols into operational implementation and conduct at the foreign, domestic and Rutgers sites.
- Provides specialized protocol, procedure and application (REDCap, FreezerPro specimen tracking) training to international site study team (investigators and staff).
- Assures timely responses to study inquiries and schedules regular "monitoring" visits. Oversees quality assurance/quality control activities with on-site staff and investigators.

Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's Degree in a relevant science plus two (2) years of related research experience,
- OR a Bachelor's degree in a relevant science plus three (3) years of related research experience.
