Process Development Manager I

As a Process Development Manager for our Portland, Maine Bio-Rad team, you will:



  • Lead projects relating to the design, development, and support of new products, resolving complex technical issues and/or enhancing existing products.
  • Develop appropriate strategies to manufacture a range of novel products by working with appropriate partners to develop the production capability or designing and building the production capability in-house.
  • Evaluate new raw materials to ensure compliance with defined specifications and efficiency in production.
  • Evaluate new technologies and new processes.


How You'll Make An Impact:



  • Drive the discovery and/or application of new product development approaches, methods, and technologies to ensure optimal effectiveness.
  • Responsible for resource allocation, resource development, budget, plans, and department's interaction with other functional entities.
  • Set overall technical strategy for projects within area.
  • Work with and in parallel with the R&D to align the production strategy with the research design needs and to move the technologies developed into production.
  • Build your team's capabilities, methodologies and processes for the design, development, debugging, and testing of production processes.


What You Bring:



  • Master's/Doctorate degree or equivalent in chemistry, biology, other physical sciences, or engineering.
  • 6+ years of industry experience leading project teams in a manufacturing, QC, or R&D environment at a comparable level, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of managerial experience
  • Experience developing and implementing complex manufacturing solutions, required.

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $104,100 to $143,100 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
