Housing and Residence Life: The mission of the Department of Housing and Residence Life is to provide residents with safe, inclusive housing communities that foster student success through innovative living and learning opportunities. HRL is a large complex department that employs approximately 350 staff and oversees 12 residential communities that house approximately 8,000 residents. The Opportunity: The UCF Department of Housing and Residence Life is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director, Residence Life & Education. This role provides leadership and oversight to a residential area, which is currently comprised of 12 residential communities that house approximately 8,000 residents. This job provides general guidance and direction to the residence life staff comprised of Residence Life Coordinators, Graduate Coordinators, office support staff, and student staff (Resident Assistants and Office Assistants). The Assistant Director, Residence Life & Education performs duties under supervision from the Associate Director to lead the Residence Life & Education program within the Department of Housing and Residence Life. Additionally, this individual performs highly complex professional student services work, navigating nuanced residential concerns while developing courses of action and implementing proposed solutions. This position has specific responsibilities for leading one of the following collaterals: professional staff training or social engagement and large-scale programming. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's and 4+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 2+ years of relevant experience with at least 1+ year(s) of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla.
