JOB SUMMARY:

Maintains purchasing function for all MRO requirements and oversees all Crib functions and personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Procure plant MRO requirements requisitioned for this location.
  • Responsible for management of plant tool and MRO crib and personnel.
  • Develop outside technical support from supply base.
  • Manage Crib inventory system and make continuous improvements.
  • Monitor MRO progress via BOS meetings. Focus on plant's biggest issues and address those issues via a team process.
  • Achieve budgeted TVM's and other cost avoidance programs.
  • Work closely with internal Engineering staff and Maintenance for internal improvements and better processes.
  • Knowledge of vendor contracts and legal language interpretation.
  • Employee must perform his/her job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions.



ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Participate on cross-functional work teams.

CRITICAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Two or four year degree in business related discipline preferred.
  • Five or more years experience in Purchasing and/or Material Control, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong Analysis and problem solving ability
  • Thorough understanding of Inventory Control and standard practices for analyzing inventory levels, SS, Turns
  • Customer Focused
  • Automotive experience at Tier One or Tier Two level preferred.
  • APICS certification or affiliation preferred.
  • A team concept method towards problem solving.
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office, including fluency with Microsoft Excel



WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • Office environment - includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, computers, telephones, desks, temperature controlled.
  • Manufacturing environment - includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, machine/equipment noise, some welding exhaust, non-controlled temperatures, and PPE required.
  • Some travel which could include an overnight stay.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • Ability to sit frequently for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move about the plant in both the office and manufacturing areas.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
  • Manual dexterity for computer work.
  • Ability to communicate in an effective manner.
