Finance and Accounting Analyst 100% remote



  • Program support for a key Department of Defense (DoD) task order valued at $15M+ annually

    • Project maintenance (e.g., establishing new charge codes, assigning personnel, processing modifications)
    • Direct engagement with Contracts and Program Manager(PM)/Sr. Director

      • Developing Rough Orders of Magnitude (ROMs)
      • Analyzing and monitoring of subcontractor invoices (e.g., compliance, prompt processing by Contracts/Accounts Payable (AP), authorizing payments based on subcontract terms)


    • Semi-monthly invoicing and submission to DoD's Wide Area Workflow (WAWF)
    • Development and submission of monthly Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) in coordination with Contracts and PM


  • Coordination with Business Unit Leadership

    • Project set-up and maintenance using Deltek's Costpoint (e.g., establishing new charge codes, assigning personnel, processing modifications)
    • Participation in periodic Business Unit meetings
    • Identification and resolution of potential funding issues with Contracts and Project Control
    • Invoicing
    • Quarterly General Services Administration (GSA) reporting and payment
    • Accounts receivable management


  • General Accounting Functions:

    • Provide support during various audits (recurring/periodic/other)

      • Annual financial audit
      • Various Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audits


    • Business registration with Registered Agent and other entities in new states/locales

      • Conduct research and develop procedures for unusual state/local requirements
      • Periodic business/financial filings (e.g., sales and use tax, excise tax, business personal property)
      • Annual corporate tax returns


    • Periodic account reconciliations




Required Skills:

  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Independent problem-solving with an aptitude to identify and seek solutions
  • Ability to use written and verbal methods for clear, professional communication Ability to work independently and in a team environment; comfortable seeking guidance, when appropriate


Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with Government contracting
  • Ability to show initiative and seek innovative solutions
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
  • Awareness of DCAA policies and ability to research
  • Experience with project-based accounting systems (e.g., Deltek's Costpoint)


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
  • 8 years of accounting-related experience
