GENERAL SUMMARY:
Acts as the departmental administrator for the staff scheduling computer software system. Provides peer leadership in creating and updating schedules for assigned clinical units and non-nursing departments. Communicates and collaborates with IT personnel, Nurse Managers, Administrative Managers and Staffing Assistants to meet daily staffing needs based on acuity, patient care needs and census. Orients, trains and supports system users on a day-to-day basis. Maintains software system information and staffing records. PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS: *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. *Serves as the software administrator for the Staffing department; in conjunction with IT, develops, tests, maintains and troubleshoots the staff scheduling software system; assigns appropriate access level to schedulers and managers based on identified protocols. *Maintains interfaces with other medical center computer systems; coordinates with administrators of other software systems that interface with the staff scheduling software system to ensure correct data is being captured and desired results being achieved. *Works with managers to maintain the integrity of budget data entered into the staff scheduling software system; updates budget and staffing plans annually or as needed to provide managers/directors with accurate and immediate staff utilization and unit productivity information. *Works with departmental users, vendors and IT to ensure consistent system functionality; responds to troubleshooting requests from individual users, department schedulers and Managers; notifies vendor and IT of unresolved issues. *Develops and maintains departmental policies and procedures related to system processes and usage. *Populates and generates custom and routine staffing reports based upon Manager requests. *Trains and educates managers and users in the effective use of staff scheduling software via telephone, one-on-one meetings and scheduled group training sessions. *Works with leaders to cover temporary job positions when needed. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate degree in health care related field required. Prior experience with scheduling or staffing in a health care setting preferred. |
