Business Intelligence Developer (Onsite)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides advanced analytics solutions using technical skills required to design and write reports, create dashboards, and provide additional analytics solutions. Provides support for users, works on medium and high complexity tasks with limited assistance within assigned areas and works on projects as a part of the Data Analytics team. Uses proven business intelligence technical skills, project management skills and prioritization skills, while providing exceptional customer service. Responsible for coaching and training end-users in the use of business intelligence solutions to enhance business decision-making capabilities. Works as a coach or mentor to Associate Business Intelligence Developers as appropriate.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

2. *Participates in or supports work stream planning process.

3. *Works with internal and external customers and IT partners to gather and validate data requirements.

4. *Develops and writes business requirements for the design of solutions; seeks advice from senior staff on more complex issues as needed.

5. *Determines and analyzes commonly used queries and reports, independently.

6. *Researches business problems and assists in the creation of models that help analyze these problems; seeks advice from senior staff on more complex issues as needed.

7. *Creates, modifies, and distributes reports displaying data (i.e., Epic Clarity and Caboodle data).

8. *Writes SQL and configures settings for customer SQL metrics.

9. *Develops, executes, and documents user test plans, provides support to test teams and resolves issues based on test results.

10. *Verifies the collection data is within required quality standards.

11. *Maintains the quality of metadata repository/data dictionary by adding, modifying and deleting data.

12. Creates data quality tickets as needed.

13. Participates in vendor evaluations when assigned.

14. Reviews upgrade documentation related to new/additional available features and determines how to implement changes.

15. Responsible for building and maintaining such items as: Cubes, Extracts, Self-Service reporting tools, custom filters, Third-Party business intelligence tools.

16. Assists in the development of end user training materials.

17. Coaches and trains clients in the use of business intelligence solutions to enhance business decision-making capability.

18. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

19. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.

20. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Strong knowledge of operational functions of the areas they support.

2. Knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.

3. Knowledge and demonstrated experience with report writing tools.

4. Knowledge of Epic applications and database structure.

5. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.

6. Skill in building: Universes/Cubes, Extracts, SlicerDicer, dashboards, cognitive computer.

7. Skill in Epic reporting including designing, building, testing, and supporting Epic Clarity report for the clinical applications/end users.

8. Skill with Epic modules: Reporting Workbench, Business Objects.

9. Advanced skill in strong communication both verbally and in writing.

10. Advanced skill in adhering and adapting to current and improving standards.

11. Ability to provide analytics solutions with user-focused design and data visualization to support making data actionable for end-users.

12. Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills.

13. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.

14. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management or specialized training /certification or equivalent work experience required. Three (3) years of business analysis or related technical experience preferred. Experience in one healthcare-related functional area (i.e., pharmacy, surgery, nursing, emergency department, hospital billing, etc) preferred. This role is not eligible for H1B sponsorship.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Epic certification in at least one (1) application module for business intelligence required within four (4) months of hire. Epic Clarity and Data Model certification highly preferred. Must have internet connectivity off-premises in order to respond to work requests when necessary. Per leader's discretion - If assigned to drive Bryan owned vehicles, a valid driver's license, and verification and maintenance of responsible driving record per facility standards required.

WORK HOURS:

Monday-Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with a requirement of three days per week in office.
