ABOUT THE POSITION The Instructional Designer will design, develop, and implement instructional experiences that make acquiring knowledge and skills more efficient, effective and engaging using Agile Instructional Design Methodologies. This individual will work through an iterative process aligned with subject matter experts, project sponsors, and other stakeholders to redeploy existing curriculum and develop new curriculum. The role involves designing and evaluating training programs as well as their effectiveness. The individual will also develop programs for virtual, in-person, computer-based, and other delivery methods, and is required to regularly evaluate and make recommendations for improvements. The role is also responsible for developing external member-facing training elements to provide for easy adoption of features within our Credit Union. NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK
- Research, design, and develop learning materials for new and existing programs, while ensuring all courses align with the company's brand guidelines.
- Foster and influence relationships with business leaders to develop programs for learning and development needs; work directly with subject matter experts, and business stakeholders for each project. Conduct needs assessments and develop performance-based learning objectives to meet SME's training goals.
- Design, develop, and deliver creative and interactive instructional materials, such as e-learning modules, videos, simulations, instructor-led training materials, job aids, and assessments.
- Ensure projects are instructionally sound and within scope and schedule parameters; translate business objectives into effective training and development solutions.
- Review and critique applicable forms for compliance, documentation, accuracy, completeness, legibility, and standardization; manage activities and deliverables from needs assessment, roadmap/conceptual design, resource allocation, pilot, preparation and implementation to logistics management and post-training evaluation.
- Design and develop training that engages participants in active learning whiling developing their understanding and expertise.
- Incorporate adult learning principles and methodologies to learning techniques and technologies that support the implementation of an LMS, core system, mobile learning, microlearning strategies and other software applications installations and upgrades.
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of training programs using data analytics tools, observations, surveys, and assessments. Recommend appropriate improvements.
- Research and make recommendations on educational best practices, instructional resources, instructional technologies and multimedia hardware/software to support teaching and learning. Complete continual A/B testing for course components to optimize user experience and knowledge retention.
- Administer eLearning sites, LMS, and virtual classroom systems; enforce LMS processes to provide oversight and facilitation. Research, test and recommend technical applications and solutions to meet training needs.
- Take ownership for actions, decisions, and results; openly accept feedback and demonstrate both the willingness and ability to improve.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Here are a few skills you MUST have to be qualified for this position.
- BA/BS degree in Business Information Technology, Learning & Development or related field.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in Instructional Design in a professional environment using classroom and multi-media methods.
- Demonstrated experience in course material in the learning design and development process, including working with Instructional Design software like Articulate Pro and Storyline, Adobe Captivate or other relevant software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of advanced instructional principles, methods, techniques, and standards, as well as knowledge of current and emerging trends in learning design and development.
- Knowledge and experience in working with learning management software like Cornerstone, Docebo, or other similar software.
- Experience with cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams)
- Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).
- Travel required on occasion.

- Sales and service training experience.
- CPTD or APTD certification.

- Experienced with multimedia tools, such as video/audio recording devices.
- Experience in Change Management.
- Experience in utilizing agile project management methodologies to reflect the fast-paced nature of modern businesses.
