We're seeking a motivated Construction Materials Operations Manager to lead our Construction Materials and Special Inspection team in Asheville, North Carolina. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to help rebuild the devastation from Hurricane Helene making a significant impact not only in the community, but also continue growing, supporting, leading and mentoring our materials testing team.

As a Construction Materials Operations Manager, you'll lead an accomplished team in delivering top-tier engineering services, overseeing construction materials testing, and managing special inspection projects. You will ensure the success of these projects through strategic leadership, precise project execution, and a strong focus on client satisfaction and team growth.

Your Day-to Day:



  • Lead and Mentor: Oversee and develop Field and Laboratory Managers, Project Managers, and administrative staff to foster a productive, cohesive team.
  • Drive Project Success: Manage project proposals, execution, and client satisfaction for a range of construction materials testing and special inspection projects.
  • Financial Oversight: Supervise profit, billing, accounts receivables, and ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Grow the Business: Collaborate on business development efforts and maintain key client relationships to drive future projects.



What You Bring:



  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering or a Construction Engineering field
  • 6+ years of experience in Operational and/or Project Management for construction materials testing and special inspection projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in NC or ability to obtain with 6 months
  • Proficiency in technology for proposals, reports, payroll, billing, and data management
  • Effective communicator and decision-maker with critical thinking skills, excelling under pressure
