You'll play a pivotal part in gathering employee insights, fostering a welcoming culture, and crafting impactful DEI&E communications. Through collaboration with various teams, you'll help build and sustain a diverse and inclusive workplace.

We're seeking someone who can bring fresh ideas to DEI&E content creation, engagement programs, and strategic initiatives while staying informed on best practices.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Social Justice, Diversity Studies, or related field of study from an accredited college or university. In lieu of a degree, equivalent combination of education and experience may be substitutable.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in Human Resources, diversity/employee engagement programming or other directly related fields.
  • Experience in writing internal communications and content creation for print, digital and social media.
  • Experience with creating and/or administering reports and data metrics.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and a high degree of cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Certifications such as DEI, HR, change management, process improvement, project management, or coaching certificate.

Salary Range: $31.848 to $39.811 per hour commensurate with experience (est. $66,243.84 to $82,806.88 per year)

Job Purpose:

Partner with the DEI&E team to promote and implement the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Engagement Program within OUC's Employee Experience Department. As a key member of the DEI&E team, research and engage in the design and administration of DEI&E programs, processes, projects, and tools. Create and maintain communications and incorporate employee feedback to update program offerings.

Primary Functions:

  • In collaboration with the DEI&E team, administer DEI&E programs and tools to help foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture throughout the employee life-cycle, including the Employee Advisory Council, employee resource groups, engagement programs, and rewards and recognition events.
  • Partner with stakeholders, particularly communication team members, to create and curate content for internal and external stakeholders. Create and edit a variety of content, including reports, articles, website and digital content, brochures, participant guides, and more.
  • Partner with key stakeholder groups to make policy and process improvement recommendations.
  • Execute DEI&E programming, including planning, setup, gathering feedback, metrics and engagement on events.
  • Track, analyze and provide insights on Diversity and Engagement related programming.
  • Research and analyze best practices, industry standards, and methods for fostering an inclusive workplace.
  • Monitor and engage via social media and other platforms on current DEI topics and bring areas of interest or trends to the attention of the DEI team. Create awareness and help enhance DEI&E efforts via social media posts and promotions.
  • Promote DEI&E programming within the organization through consulting, collaboration and partnerships.
  • Collaborate with team on community engagement, supplier diversity, and other diversity related initiatives. In partnership with the DEI team, ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to diversity and inclusion.
  • Maintain documentation, update shared files site, monitor shared email accounts and digital interface and ensure appropriate access, version control, and accuracy of these items.
  • Keep current on diversity programs and developments by maintaining contact with others in the field and continuing diversity and inclusion education (e.g., professional association, educational groups and professional development efforts).
  • Participate in workgroups, task forces, special projects, and other duties as assigned, including but not limited to rewards and recognition, procurement and supplier diversity, recruitment, community engagement, and training initiatives and programs.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Technical requirements:

  • Working knowledge of all, but not limited to the following:
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, etc.);
    • Identifying and addressing inefficiencies in the use of technologies, processes, and workflow;
  • Ability to:
    • Communicate clearly, concisely, and efficiently, both orally and in writing, with employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Exercise judgment and discretion in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR programs.
    • Create data metrics and analytics in support of DEI & Engagement programs.
    • Exhibit strong writing and communication skills.
    • Work in a team-oriented environment and provide support to the department through a strong work ethic, sense of commitment, and a strong desire to succeed.
    • Make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
    • Learn new concepts and terminology, adapt quickly, and apply theory and concepts to practical applications.

Working Conditions:

This job is absent of disagreeable working conditions. It is performed in an office work environment.

Physical Requirements:

This job includes very frequent speaking/hearing, writing/typing, and detailed inspection. This job requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, and bending. There may be occasional climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead, etc. This job entails frequent local travel between company locations.
