Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position |
The College of Science and Technology at North Carolina A&T State University is seeking a dynamic Business Services Coordinator to assist the Dean with managing and overseeing the daily business operations of the College. The position reports to the Dean and performs various financial and business-related duties. These include developing and managing budgets, monitoring and controlling expenditures, ensuring efficient allocation of resources, preparing forms, reports, and financial statements, assisting the Dean with the hiring process of faculty, staff, part-timers, and students, payroll, analyzing financial data to inform decision making, ensuring compliance with the university, state, and federal policies and guidelines, planning, executing, and monitoring projects, coordinating and collaborating with different university divisions and departments to ensure project success, supporting department Chairs and staff members, assessing the college operational performance and recommending improvements. |

The College of Science and Technology enrolls 2200 students. The College houses the departments of Applied Engineering Technology, Biology, Built Environment, Chemistry, Computer Systems Technology, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, and the Ph.D. Program of Applied Science Technology. The College is experiencing substantial growth in enrollment, faculty size, curricula, and research. |

Duties |
Serves as Business Services Coordinator for the College of Science and Technology. Process requisitions and purchase orders through the Aggie Mart procurement system, travel authorizations and expense reports through Chrome River, subscriptions, maintenance agreements, procurement card reconciliation, monthly reports, and other business transactions for the college. Manage student employment, temporary hires, and faculty release time using the ePAF system. |

Acts as liaison to faculty and organizations, interprets policies and procedures, and provides services. Serves as point of contact to assist the Dean(s) on all budgetary matters as well as all other business transactions and ensure compliance with University, state, and federal guidelines. Interacts with administrators, faculty, staff, students at NC A&T, vendors, other universities and constituents. Understand, explain, and implement any changes in policies in a timely manner. Facilitate the work flow through the unit and direct the related activities as necessary. Sign various forms in the absence of the Dean within delegated authority. |

Maintain auditable records for accounts-budget re-allocations, time sheets, personnel actions, purchase requests, effort reports. Assist processing all hiring documents and packets for new employees (
SHRA,
EHRA, temporary employees, etc.) as required or requested by the Dean, including employment and time sheets for student workers. Stay abreast of changes in policies and procedures and communicate any issues/problems in a timely and concise manner. Explore new areas of training needs and make recommendations. |
