As MISO's Software Engineer, you'll focus on creating and supporting practical solutions that help tackle key challenges. You'll work closely with engineers, operators, analysts, and data scientists to develop interactive tools and applications that support Market Operations. As our Software Engineer, you'll also act as a bridge between teams, ensuring smooth collaboration with agile teams. The tools and insights you help develop will empower MISO's daytime and operations staff, enhancing decision-making to help optimize markets, reduce risk, and deliver meaningful value.

Your Responsibilities as our Software Engineer include:



  • Design and build high-performance applications.
  • Code, test, and implement programs to meet business and compliance needs.
  • Collaborate with teams to create tools that enhance market operations and decision-making.
  • Partner with business groups to define and refine application requirements.
  • Ensure code integrity with checks and balances for operational controls.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation support.
  • Solve complex issues, communicate recommendations, and implement solutions for management and stakeholders.


What We're Looking For:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields (or equivalent experience) with 1 to 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in Python, Angular, SQL, or other relevant technologies.
  • Git experience
  • Enthusiasm for coding and collaborating with teams to build and enhance tools and processes that empower better decision-making


Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
