DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Gather, enter, and harvest data from databases, compile information, and prepare reports to facilitate efficient workloads. Identify trends and issues for corrective action.

Perform data abstraction from chart review/EMR for specific patient populations, directly related to the registry identified.

Interact with patient care providers (physicians, APRNs, PAs, etc.) through

in-services, rounding, clarification query requests, and personal contacts to

ensure quality documentation practices, documentation clarification,

documentation policies/procedures, and regulations.

Communicate effectively orally, and in writing, or before audiences with

providers, to mid-level providers related to meeting criteria in documentation around ordering or contraindications, if not ordering per guideline of directed medical therapies, inclusive of queries for clarification.

Present information to service line leadership.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of registry standards and changes and communicate to appropriate personnel and providers.

Maintain knowledge and expertise in electronic software tools (IDX, Cerner, 3M, etc.).

Complete special projects assigned by organizational leadership.

Serve as a subject matter expert and educational resource specific to the

designated registry.

May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

Experience in documentation review, quality, ICD-9 coding, and

education/communication with physicians.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Broad clinical expertise and direct contact with physicians.

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
