The Opportunity

The DREAM and REAL-TIME research labs at the University of Central Florida (UCF) are seeking a full-time postdoctoral scholar to lead research projects focused on substance use and the utilization of advanced technology. This position is part of an NIH-funded project testing a mobile application-based intervention for improving alcohol treatment outcomes.

About the Position
The postdoctoral scholar will work closely with Dr. Lidia Meshesha and Dr. Robert Dvorak on clinical research for substance use disorders. The appointment is for 2 years, ideally beginning January 1, 2025. Current research projects concentrate on:
* Testing mobile application-based interventions for substance use disorders
* Increasing rewarding and substance-free activities to improve alcohol treatment outcomes
* Utilizing advanced technology in addiction research and treatment

Responsibilities

The postdoctoral scholar will:
* Contribute to project coordination for NIH-funded research
* Supervise participant recruitment, assessments, and research assistants
* Oversee data management and analysis
* Participate in manuscript preparation and conference presentations
* Engage in grant writing and submissions
* Have opportunities to develop independent research projects
* Participate in teaching and mentoring activities

Minimum Qualifications

1. Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Public Health, or a closely related field
2. Research experience in substance use disorders, addictive behaviors, or related areas

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with clinical trials or intervention research
2. Familiarity with mobile health (mHealth) technologies
3. Knowledge of advanced statistical methods (e.g., structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling)
4. Research or clinical experience with individuals with substance use disorders
