Contract Specialist Govt & Bus Contract Admin Full Time 82074BR Job Summary The RA3 Contract Specialist is responsible for the preparation, drafting, review and negotiation of simple to moderately complex training affiliation; core lab services; and sales and service agreements, and other contracts which may be assigned by the Supervisor and the Director - Contracts/Awards. This role negotiates terms and conditions of simple to moderately complex contracts, and provides guidance and counsel on a wide variety of contract-related matters to senior departmental administrators while supporting senior Contract Officers with their portfolios and the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) staff. The Contract Specialist will be the institutional representative throughout the life of the contract. During the contract negotiation process, the Contract Specialist will need to coordinate input from departmental administrators, and campus offices including Legal Affairs, Risk Management, Privacy, Dean's offices, and Department managers. The Contract Specialist will be responsible for interpreting internal guidance, negotiating inclusion of stakeholder requirements into contracts, and completing all assignments in a timely and professional manner and in compliance with University policy. The Contract Specialist works independently to assess simple to moderately complex contract transactions where analysis requires a thorough understanding of variable factors. This position uses advanced contracts and grants concepts to manage high volume and simple to moderate complexity transactions. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $81,000 - $121,600 (Annual Rate). OSR is comprised of an Operations and Training Team, Proposals and Grants Division, Contracts and Awards Division, and the Industry Contracts Division. The Contracts and Awards Division comprises Contracts & Awards Officers and Specialists at the RA4 and RA3 levels, RA2 Associates, and Team Managers supporting 2000+ faculty, and is responsible for contract and award review and acceptance, government contract proposal preparation, and includes subcontracts and business contracts for the UCSF campus. OSR research administration and business contract functions promote, support, strengthen and grow the research, clinical and education enterprise of UCSF. Required Qualifications
