Summary of Position
This position will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining custom low-code business solutions using Microsoft's Power Platform suite (specifically Power Apps, Power Automate) and SharePoint Online to support the Microsoft 365 (M365) environment used by faculty, students and staff across the University System of New Hampshire in our teaching, learning, research, and outreach missions across the state. This role will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and leverage expertise in backend administration and solution development to create and manage custom automation solutions. The Developer will be responsible for all aspects of implementing solutions including development, testing, deployment and process documentation. This role will also serve as backup administrator for SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across platforms.

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in information technology field, Associate's and six years, or combination of education and experience equal to eight years.

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency related to scripting and programing PowerShell, JSON, and/or Graph API
  • Experience developing enterprise-wide solutions that span across integration of Microsoft 365 services (e.g., SharePoint, Power Platform, Entra ID, Teams, Graph API, OneDrive, MS Forms etc.) in large scale enterprise.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and for creating appropriate process documentation.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively while remote, including remote customer support.
  • Broad knowledge of several areas of information technology and thorough knowledge of specialty area as required by this role.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in Microsoft technologies.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years' experience in Power Platform development or general M365 Administration
  • Knowledge of Power Platform/SharePoint Online specific languages like PowerFx, SPFx and strong programming skills using other languages like JavaScript, HTML, ASP; versioning via GitLab/GitHub
  • Experience in PowerShell scripting and PnP provisioning for SharePoint Online and M365 services
  • Experience implementing security and development best practices using Entra ID and M365 services
  • Background in M365 Security and compliance features with knowledge of configuring SharePoint and Teams
  • Knowledge of Power Platform environments, and Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE)
  • Microsoft Certifications
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.

Duty/Responsibility
Solution Design, Development, Testing, and Deployment

  • Create and implement custom low-code enterprise-wide business solutions using Power Apps (both Canvas and Model-driven) and Power Automate to meet the needs of faculty, students, and staff.
  • Utilize scripting and programming skills in PowerShell, JSON, and Graph API to address advanced technical challenges and develop robust, efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Integrate various Microsoft 365 services like SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and others to create cohesive solutions.
  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure solutions meet the specified requirements and are free of defects.
  • Manage the deployment process, ensuring smooth and successful implementation of solutions in the live environment.
  • Ensure solutions are effectively integrated into the USNH M365 environment.



Duty/Responsibility
Administration, Maintenance, and Support

  • Recommend, script, and implement technical procedures, reports and/or systems for M365 system maintenance and tasks.
  • Act as a backup for the backend administration of SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams, ensuring their optimal performance and integration.
  • Manage and monitor custom automation solutions to ensure they are running efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for custom automations and Power Platform, SharePoint and Teams projects.
  • Reporting outages as needed to 1st and 2nd level support. Collaborating with Tenant team, Identity Management Group, Cyber Security team, and 1st and 2nd level support groups to facilitate governance compliance with USNH standards across all campuses.
  • M365 service health monitoring and awareness.

  • Work closely with the development team Project lead and stakeholders to understand client business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and automated solutions.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity throughout the project lifecycle.

Documentation and Continuous Learning

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed solutions, processes, and procedures.
  • Maintain SOP's for current processes.
  • Provide occasional training and support to end-users and other team members to ensure they can effectively use the implemented solutions.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay current with new features and best practices in Microsoft technologies.
  • Keep abreast of M365 roadmap, ensuring that solutions remain relevant and effective.
