Contract Liaison for R&D/Clinical Operations

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contract Liaison to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of contracts within the R&D function, coordinating with multiple departments to ensure compliance and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a background in contracts or procurement with an emphasis on contracts that are supporting research and development operations, and experience in vendor onboarding.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Contract Lifecycle Management:



    • Initiate, review, and facilitate the execution and archival of R&D contracts.
    • Track contract expiration dates, ensure adherence to purchase orders, and manage scope changes to maintain alignment with project goals.



  • Contract Liaison Duties:



    • Act as a point of contact between R&D and other departments such as Legal, Procurement, and Finance to streamline contract processes and resolve issues.
    • Ensure all stakeholders are informed about contract terms, obligations, and timelines to foster a clear understanding of project expectations.



  • Budget and Expense Support:



    • Assist in month-end expense reconciliation, tracking contract expenditures and variances.
    • Provide support for quarterly and annual budget and forecasting processes by analyzing R&D contract-related expenses and preparing reports for review.



  • Vendor Onboarding and Coordination:



    • Coordinate new vendor submissions in partnership with the Procurement team, ensuring compliance with company policies and onboarding requirements.
    • Maintain up-to-date records of vendor credentials, agreements, and performance data as part of the R&D vendor management process.



  • Documentation and Compliance:



    • Maintain comprehensive records of contracts, amendments, and communications.
    • Ensure all contracts are archived accurately and in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.




Qualifications:




  • Education: Bachelor's degree



  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in contract management, preferably in an R&D or life sciences setting.



  • Knowledge and Skills:



    • Familiarity with R&D operations and the contract requirements specific to research and development projects.
    • Proficiency with contract management and lifecycle tools, as well as MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple contracts, timelines, and deliverables.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
