JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania State University Student Leadership & Involvement is seeking student-centered, culturally competent candidates to join our team as a Program Coordinator for Service and Leadership. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to inclusive excellence, community engagement, and the holistic development of students as well as strong facilitation, program planning, and advising skills. Critical thinking, problem-solving, strong communication, and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.

This position reports to the Assistant Director for Service and Leadership in the Office of Student Leadership & Involvement, which strives to cultivate student learning and development by encouraging exploration as well as providing educational and experiential opportunities.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Contributing to the development, implementation, and assessment of service and leadership programs in a collaborative and inclusive environment which may include days of service, immersive experiences, workshops, and student leader training.

  • Advising and supporting student programs such as the Penn State Alternative Breaks program, Martin Luther King commemorative committee, student awards, and other programming coordinated by the office.

  • Assisting with coordinating and staffing programs hosted by Student Leadership and Involvement and representing the office at various committees and events.

Typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A willingness and ability to work flexible hours to support night and weekend activities is required.

This position may require that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check may be required in addition to standard background checks. Management is supportive of flexible work arrangements when aligned with the ability to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
