Job Opportunity - Mechanical Design Engineer with VEGA America in Mason, OH, 45036

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Read, create, and interpret blueprints, component specifications, bills of materials, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Answer technical and procedural questions; teach improved processes and mentor team members.
  • Drives project deadlines by coordinating actions, and reviewing open issues and action items.
  • Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, field service, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
  • May direct/lead designers and drafters on project teams.
  • Determines and documents product requirements by studying product concepts, features, specifications, sketches, regulatory requirements, and existing models; analyzing user and potential user input; conferring with design engineers, sales, and product managers.
  • Evaluates prototype components and assemblies.
  • Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; determining effects of design with respect to various factors such as temperature, pressures, corrosion, vibration, and radiation exposure; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Strong analytical foundation of various engineering disciplines such as mechanics, statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, vibration, and materials.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Follow procedures and work instructions in compliance with ISO 9001.


REQUIREMENTS



  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience and a proven track record of meeting and exceeding job expectations.
  • Experience with FMEA, DOE, root cause analysis, GD&T, design for manufacturing and assembly, and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
