Pediatric - Gastroenterology
Job Summary
Work assignment: This position works primarily at UCSF Mission Bay. It involves telehealth sessions and some work at off-site satellite locations.
The UCSF Clinical Dietitian collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to provide specialized nutrition care that is integrated and compatible with overall goals of care for pediatric patients at high risk for nutrition problems in outpatient pediatric gastroenterology clinics. Primary responsibilities include nutrition assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition intervention and evaluating patient response to nutrition interventions including enteral and parenteral nutrition. Participates in compliance, quality performance improvement efforts. Contributes to nutrition education by acting as a preceptor for trainees and participating in didactic sessions. Maintains professional competence.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $46.90 - $63.24 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential
- Specialty credential related to job assignment or equivalent (see Required Licenses/Certifications) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date
- A majority of the clinical internship training or work experience must have taken place in a large teaching hospital or other tertiary care hospital.
- Two years of clinical nutrition work experience following completion of dietetic internship or other ACEND-accredited supervised practice program.
- At least 6 months of pediatric experience as a registered dietitian.
- Pediatrics only: Paneled with California Children's Services or meets eligibility requirements within 6 months of hire date
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in a large teaching hospital and in pediatric gastroenterology within the last year
- Experience teaching and supervising dietetic interns or other students
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
License/Certification
- Registered Dietitian
- Specialty credential related to job assignment or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Examples: Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC), Certified Specialist in Pediatrics (CSP), Certified Specialist in Oncology (CSO) or other specialist credential obtained through the Commission on Dietetic Registration, or other applicable credential that requires an examination and periodic re-examination or documented specialty CEUs.

- If there is no available specialty credential related to the job assignment, one of the following may be substituted:
- Master's degree in a related field of study plus two years of related work experience within the prior 5 years
- Three years of related work experience in prior 5 years plus a minimum of 20 CEUs in prior five years directly related to work assignment
