Job Summary
Temporary Employment Services (TES) Employees perform a variety of general clerical and administrative support functions for multiple departments during the course of employment. Temporary Assignments may involve activities such as creating documents and spreadsheets using MS Office and other similar tools, calendar management using Outlook, scheduling meetings both in person and virtual, event planning, making travel arrangements, processing expense reports, processing payroll transactions, human resources support, and other related clerical duties such as reception, answering phones, filing, scanning and managing correspondence. - Experience providing administrative, clerical and/or executive level support to a diverse clientele.
- Experience utilizing standard business software applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, Google Docs, Smart Sheets, etc.
- Experience scheduling meetings utilizing Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meets and other virtual meeting software.
- Experience managing a busy Outlook Calendar for supervisors, managers and other executive staff.
- Experience utilizing automated payroll, personnel, financial, purchasing and travel information systems.
- Experience creating a variety of documents such as correspondence, spreadsheets, reports, and presentations.
- Experience managing projects and multiple tasks to meet deadlines and to maintain a consistently high level of productivity and efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Flexibility, willingness to accept Temporary Assignments regardless of classification and/or pay rate
- Interpersonal, verbal and written skills to interact and communicate effectively with a wide of variety of people.
- Experience with travel arrangements, event planning and expense reporting
- Experience in supervision and/or management
- The ability to learn quickly and multitask
- Experience working in a medical office environment
Department Description
- Temporary Employment Services assigns jobs throughout UC Davis Campus (Davis) and UC Davis Health (Sacramento) encompassing a wide variety of work environments.
- Assignments can last from anywhere from a month to two years depending on the position and the need of the department.
- Employees are expected to remain flexible when accepting temporary assignments as job duties and pay rates will vary.
- May be required to work occasional overtime, evenings, and/or weekends depending upon the assignment.
- Positions require a background check and may require a pre-placement medical exam.
- Must complete mandatory training within 15 days from start date of first assignment. In addition, those assigned at UCDHS must complete the HIPAA Privacy and Security Training prior to placement.
- A valid CA Driver's License may be required for some assignments.
- UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus. Smoking, the use of smokeless tobacco products, and the use of unregulated nicotine products (e-cigarettes) will be strictly prohibited on any UC Davis owned or leased property, indoors and outdoors, including parking lots and residential space

- This position is a critical position and may be subject to a background check and drug screen. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation including criminal history, identity checks and drug screen.
