Acara Solutions is seeking a Engineering Technician to join our client due to growth for a Full Time Direct Hire opportunity located in Rochester, NY. The objective of this role is to assist in optimizing manufacturing processes, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring equipment runs efficiently. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting engineering activities, process improvements, and ensuring product quality.
This is a salaried position paying between 50K and 60K annually
Essential Duties:
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Program and support AOI (Automated Optical Inspection)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with production equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Support engineers in developing and modifying process documentation and work instructions.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and validation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Monitor production lines and machinery for efficiency and compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Collect and analyze production data to recommend process improvements.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff on new equipment and processes.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design fixtures, tools, and jigs that improve production efficiency.
  • Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery or equipment in the production environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and best practices across the manufacturing floor.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a technician role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as PCB assembly, machining, and general assembly.
  • Experience with troubleshooting equipment and process-related issues
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • CAD software experience
