Job Summary:
We're on the lookout for an experienced Senior Vice President of Software Engineering to spearhead our engineering teams as we transform our advertising platform for the digital age. This is a key leadership role focused on aligning engineering initiatives with business goals, fostering a culture of innovation, and delivering high-quality, scalable products that redefine the digital out-of-home (DOOH) landscape.

As the Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, you'll oversee all engineering functions, with a strong emphasis on building and scaling our digital infrastructure and software systems. We're looking for a dynamic leader with a proven track record of guiding cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping our technology stack from development to deployment.

In this role, you'll lead the digital infrastructure team and collaborate closely with product management, data, and analytics teams to ensure our engineering efforts align seamlessly with OUTFRONT Media's strategic objectives. What You'll Do:
Leadership & Strategy:

  • Lead and inspire the software engineering team, including digital infrastructure, development, and operations.
  • Collaborate closely with the CTO to shape the strategic vision for technology and the software development roadmap.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.
  • Build and scale the engineering team to meet the evolving needs of the business, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives.

Technical Excellence:

  • Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of software and infrastructure systems.
  • Champion best practices in software development, testing, and deployment to ensure high quality, scalability, and reliability.
  • Advocate for DevOps and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) to streamline development and release processes.
  • Ensure the infrastructure is designed for scalability, security, and high performance.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with product management teams to align technical solutions with product roadmaps and business needs.
  • Collaborate across departments-sales, marketing, etc.-to support the development of technical solutions that drive business success.
  • Provide technical insights to executive leadership (CTO, CEO, CFO) to guide key decisions.

Team Development & Growth:

  • Mentor and develop engineering leaders, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Attract, retain, and nurture top engineering talent, with a strong focus on diversity and inclusion in recruitment and promotion.
  • Define performance metrics and conduct regular evaluations to drive continuous improvement.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Lead initiatives to optimize software development processes, enhancing productivity and operational efficiency across the engineering organization.
  • Manage the engineering budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Ensure the engineering team has the tools and infrastructure needed to build, deploy, and maintain services at scale.

Preferred Qualifications/Education:

  • Experience: 15+ years in software engineering, with at least 8 years in a leadership role, preferably in a digital media or advertising environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proven expertise in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practices. Strong experience in building and scaling platforms with high traffic or large-scale operations.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring high-performance engineering teams, focusing on team development and fostering a culture of collaboration.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities, with a talent for influencing and collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Product Management Collaboration: Experience working closely with product management teams to develop roadmaps and align technical priorities with business goals.
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in the DOOH, adtech, or related digital platform industry is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical and business challenges.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
  • Adaptability: Ability to manage priorities and tasks effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Governance Expertise: Understanding of software governance, quality management, and compliance with industry standards.

For NY and California, the salary range for this role is $285,000-$300,000 per year.This role is also eligible for incentive compensation. Compensation is determined during our interview process by assessing a candidate's experience and skills relative to internal peers and market benchmarks evaluated for the scope and responsibilities of the position.
