The National Safety Council is America's leading nonprofit safety advocate. We focus on eliminating the leading causes of preventable injuries and deaths. Through leadership, research, education, and advocacy, NSC focuses on areas where most unintentional injuries and deaths occur. We are currently looking for a Public Relations Specialistto join us in our mission to save lives and prevent injuries. Position Highlights: The Public Relations Specialist leads media relations by crafting talking points, briefers, press releases, media summaries, and sizzle reels. This role organizes press events, conducts media training for NSC subject matter experts, and contributes to the organization's SafetyFirst blog and social media channels. Key responsibilities include drafting policy statements, working with communications counterparts at funders and government agency partners, and supporting workplace and roadway safety programs. This position involves collaboration on the development and grant communications and monitors trends in the media, the safety field, and through Injury Facts. What You'll Do:
