What You Will Do:

Role Overview

The Capital Markets Lead will assist in the execution and structuring of third-party financing deals, including tax equity partnerships, for renewable energy projects. This role will support the preparation and management of financial models utilized for internal and external purposes and assist in managing key commercial relationships with investors. The Capital Markets Lead will help implement annual or multi-annual financing plans, support the analysis of investment opportunities, and assist in internal and external topics related to tax equity partnerships. Additionally, the Capital Markets Lead will collaborate closely with internal teams, including M&A, Business Development, and other internal and external parties.

Main Accountabilities:



  • Support the Capital Markets team, providing assistance with team needs and goals
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director and CFO to identify financing strategies aligned with company goals
  • Assist in the sourcing and execution of tax equity, debt, and other financing transactions for distributed generation scale solar projects
  • Support the negotiation of transaction documents
  • Conduct advanced financial analysis and modeling to inform financing decisions, and present results for Associate Director review
  • Provide input and research on new financial tools and products relevant to EDPR NA DG, ensuring alignment with market developments
  • Assist with the development of financing structures for emerging technologies such as energy storage
  • Work with internal M&A and Origination teams as needed during Acquisitions, Sale Processes, and PPA negotiations respectively
  • Help prepare and review marketing materials (teasers, info-memos, factsheets) for potential investors and internal approval committees
  • Manage key aspects of the due diligence process, including preparation of virtual data rooms and working with internal and external stakeholders to address investor inquiries
  • Support the preparation of financial models to evaluate project returns and investor proposals
  • Maintain effective communication and relationship management with potential and current investors/partners
  • Stay informed about regulatory environments and financial incentives that impact project viability and profitability

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, economics, or related field;
  • 4-6 years in energy or finance required, with focus on renewable energy project financing preferred
  • Solid understanding of renewable energy finance structures, particularly within the solar industry
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling, with hands-on experience preferred
  • Experience in project finance or tax equity industry is desirable
  • Familiarity with tax equity financing rules and renewable energy incentives is advantageous
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, and related financial tools
  • Demonstrated competency in analytical problem solving, clear communication, collaboration with stakeholders, and technical expertise

Salary hiring range: $130,000 - $160,000

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry and are one part of many compensation, benefits, and other reward opportunities we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect most of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.
