The Department of Mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh (Oakland campus) invites applications for the position of Teaching Assistant Professor to begin in the Fall Term of 2025, pending budgetary approval. The initial appointment is for two years, and the position is renewable for subsequent 2-year terms. Primary responsibilities include teaching six courses per academic year (typically three courses in the fall and 3 in the spring) and supporting the department's students and activities through service. Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences or a closely related discipline is required. We seek excellence in teaching and an interest in innovative instruction. Desired Qualifications: Experience with student mentorship, especially related to directed reading or student research supervision, would be a plus. The ability to teach courses in mathematical areas that complement the areas of expertise of our current permanent faculty is also desirable.
